The Arc of the United States is the largest organization in the country advocating for and serving people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD), including Down syndrome, autism, Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders, cerebral palsy, and other diagnoses. Nearly 700 chapters strong across the country, we promote and protect the human rights of people with I/DD and actively support their full inclusion and participation in the community throughout their lifetime. Yet, too few people in the general public know us and are aware of what The Arc is doing in their community – so The Arc is taking to the television airwaves to raise awareness of our organization.
Thanks to the generosity of Comcast/NBCUniversal, The Arc’s new public service announcement will air in their markets throughout 2015. This PSA captures how The Arc is there with people with I/DD and their families throughout the arc of their lifetime – from birth, to school, to young adulthood, through their journey to employment, and even into the twighlight years.
